“The Woods Wrap Around You”, a cooperative exhibit of hand-colored monoprints by Loretta CR Hubley, will be on display from October 1st through October 30th at Creative Ventures Gallery.  The opening will be October 14th starting with a wine and hors d’oeuvre reception at 6:30pm and a talk at 7pm about her art and the life of the artist who inspired her – Canadian artist, Emily Carr (1871-1945), who popularized not only the wild woods of Canada, but was the first Caucasian artist to realize and express the value of the Native American totem poles. Carr’s art evolved from conservative watercolors to expressive paintings, celebrating the indigenous totem poles and wild woods of British Colombia and Alaska. The reception will include some Canadian and NW Native American foods.
