Description
For serious teen artists ready to refine their craft, this class focuses on the fundamentals of academic drawing and painting from observation. Working from still life setups, landscapes, and live portrait studies, students will learn to see like artists—training their eye for proportion, light, form, and color. Exposure to a variety of techniques, prompts, art styles, modern/contemporary art movements, and artists will serve as guidance and inspiration. Students will work toward refining art skills in all areas, as well as inspire and learn from each other during “art school style” critiques. Although prompts and in-class assignments will be given, students may opt for an independent project to work on/receive help with.
