This August, Creative Ventures Gallery is turning the natural world into an unforgettable creative playground with our Nature Escape in Art summer camp! Running from August 4–7, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, this fun-filled, four-day program invites young artists to explore nature through hands-on artmaking in our welcoming studio space.
With a perfect blend of painting, drawing, crafting, and outdoor inspiration, kids will gain confidence in their artistic skills while discovering just how much beauty the world around them holds. From budding painters to curious crafters, every child will find something to love in this imaginative summer escape.
Every Day a New Creative Adventure
Here’s what campers can look forward to throughout the week:
Monday – Wildlife & Watercolors
We’ll begin the week with a watercolor session focused on drawing animals and birds, helping campers observe and express the movement and personality of creatures great and small. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves to paint flowerpots and plant seeds, giving each child something to nurture and take home.
Tuesday – Painting Nature’s Details
Kids will paint still lifes of plants and natural objects in vibrant acrylics, honing their composition skills and learning how to bring depth to their work. We’ll also create seashell picture frames, mixing creativity with a beachy summer twist.
Wednesday – Pastel Landscapes & Leaf Bowls
Campers will experiment with oil pastels to create colorful landscapes, learning how to layer and blend like pros. Next, they’ll shape their own leaf-inspired clay bowls, combining form and texture to craft something both artistic and functional.
Thursday – Ink Drawings & Silhouettes
Our final day brings together detailed line work and bold color as campers create pen and ink drawings with colored pencil enhancements. They’ll wrap up the week with a silhouette tree painting, emphasizing contrast, shape, and composition.
For the Creative & Curious
Nature Escape in Art is designed to ignite creativity while encouraging kids to explore, observe, and express themselves through art. We use both traditional supplies and natural materials, so campers should be ready to get a little messy—we recommend comfortable clothes that can handle a splash of paint or smudge of clay.
And don’t forget to bring a snack each day so your artist can recharge between projects.
