I started painting a little later in life. After a 37-year career with the federal government I decided it was time to retire.  I needed a change of scenery (and weather) so like a lot of people I became a Florida snowbird.  There, I began taking watercolor classes and got “hooked” as they say. After moving back permanently to New Hampshire in 2009, I  studied with local art instructors in both watercolors, oils and pastels. Most recently with well known New Hampshire artist, Randy Knowles.

I am very fortunate to live in New England with it’s beautiful landscape and dramatic coastal areas. My passion is about capturing light  and textures. I hope that my vision comes across in my paintings.

I am a member of Manchester Artists Association, New Hampshire Plein Air Painters,  Nashua Area Artists Association, Mount Washington Valley Artists Association and an Associate Member of the New England Watercolor Society. When I am not standing at my easel I enjoy spending time combing through antique shops.  You can reach me at sntjm1@comcast.net.
