Mission Statement
Creative Ventures Gallery is a Milford, New Hampshire LLC committed to the belief that participation in the creative process enriches the lives of not only professional artists but also art students, patrons of the arts and the general public. We at Creative Ventures fulfill this very human need through art classes, lectures and art exhibitions.
Since July 2015, Creative Ventures Gallery has existed to provide working space and visibility for professional local artists. Our goal is to combine studio, gallery and classroom space all under one roof. Oil, alcohol ink, watercolor, printmaking, acrylic, mixed media and pastel are among the mediums represented. The gallery serves the Greater Nashua area and is open to the public, providing a relaxing environment that allows the visiting public to observe and to interact with the resident working artists. In September 2017, we relocated to our new space at 411 Nashua Street in Milford where we will enjoy larger studio spaces and larger classrooms with handicapped accessibility.
Studio space will be allocated based on room size and space requirements of each artist. Rental costs are determined accordingly, i.e., the larger the space, the higher the rent. Artist may use the wall space in his/her studio space to hang artwork and a portion of the common space. Studio artists are expected to participate in special events whenever possible.
To the extent that we need to provide an adequate level of variety in our presentation, artwork by other artists from time to time may be accepted on consignment to cover some of the common areas in the building subject to a 25% charge on sales. The official gallery shop is confined to a small room where we will have rotating exhibits of artists presenting at the First Friday events along with other gift items. Everything sold in that room is subject to a 25% gallery fee. This gallery will change out every month.
Art classes are conducted by both studio artists and outside artists who bring their teaching skills to students at Creative Ventures. Instruction in drawing, charcoal, printmaking and painting in pastels oils, acrylics, and watercolor are offered in a classroom setting. Instruction in alcohol inks and mixed media is also part of the curriculum. Private lessons are available in some media. Classes may be held on weekends and/or evenings as well as weekdays. Tweens and teens are welcome in many classes as described under the classes tab above. Other classes are designed specifically for children of all ages.
Periodically, we have Art Talks. These are free events and are open to the public. The intent is to inspire creativity in all of us. Check Creative Ventures Gallery to see what we are doing. Please let us know if you have a speaker you would like to see or you have a topic that you would like to have a speaker investigate.
