“Spring Runoff” is a small work from the end of a painting session. Before cleaning off my palette, I refer to photos I’ve kept on hand and quickly paint a small work. This helps to keep my painting skills loose and spontaneous. This is off Route 9 in Stoddard going towards Keene.
A lifelong urge to paint has led me to this time in life. I cannot remember a time when I was not fascinated by drawing and paintings. With some college credit art courses but mostly practice, practice, practice, I’ve reached a point in which painting is my fulfillment, my escape from reality. How many times have I forgotten dinner time!!! Having raised my family, and now retired I find that I can totally immerse myself in painting while nurturing others in art. It is my “joie de vivre”.
