This class is designed for anyone interested in learning how to apply color using pastel as a dry painting medium or someone who just wants to broaden their knowledge of pastels. We will go over how to set yourself up for the best success in the medium. We will explore how to simplify the complexities of landscapes and at the same time learn how to create form. Topics will include – pastel application, composition, value, atmospheric perspective, color and more. This class can be ongoing with this instructor and can be joined at any time. Having prior drawing skills is an important place to start.
Supplies: 48 color set of Nupastels (I have some for purchase) plus any others you may have (no Rembrandts), sanded pastel paper (or I have some for purchase) of your choice – 9×12 or 11×14 in size, pad of tracing paper little larger than size you plan on working (11×14 or 12×16) and a couple pastel pencils.
