In this three-session workshop you will learn how to mix the three primary colors to make: secondary colors, grays, blacks, warm and cool colors, complementary colors, and different values of the same colors. We will paint a couple landscapes with different atmospheric conditions. We will also learn about glazing techniques. This workshop is excellent for all painters, it will even be useful for other mediums, but the lessons will be in acrylic. (This could be a continuation of her last workshop)

Supplies needed:

Your Paints (the medium is your choice) – – – –

ACRYLICS – Golden Heavy Body Acrylics – Primary Yellow, Primary Magenta, and Phthalo Blue (green shade), Titanium White.

Acrylic Mediums: Matte medium, Slow Drying extender if using acrylics other than Heavy Body

OIL – Winsor Newton brand – Cadmium Lemon Yellow, Permanent Rose, and Phthalo Blue

or Gamblin brand – Hansa Yellow Light, Quinacridone Red, and Phthalo Blue

WATERCOLOR – Windsor Newton brand – Cadmium Lemon, Permanent Rose, and Windsor Blue Green Shade

or Van Gogh brand – Permanent Lemon Yellow, Quinacridone Rose and Phthalo Blue

or Graham brand – Azo Yellow, Quinacridone Rose, and Phthalo Blue


Variety of brushes


2  11 x 14 canvases or paper to work on

Multimedia paper for practice exercises or another canvas

Palette knives for mixing (oils/acrylics)
