Description
This all-day workshop focuses on methods to develop greater depth and achieve the appearance of the atmosphere within one’s work. Students will begin by exploring historical examples of how painters previously achieved depth within their work and then practice various historical techniques. Students will be challenged to explore ways to better incorporate these methods within their current individual artistic styles. Throughout this workshop, students will engage in conversations around space, mood, scale, emphasis, and perspective as just some of the major topics. Attention to foundational techniques will remain a priority so any student can explore and build upon these principles to improve their work. This is open to all painting mediums, however, Jim will be working in oils.
