This workshop will help students learn how to use color more effectively and apply a variety of techniques to further enhance the mood, design, or expression within their work. Focusing on topics like value, saturation, and temperature, students will engage the world of color with a new vocabulary, take on exercises, and view examples of effective color in painting. Throughout this workshop students will practice color mixing and learn how to use colors within their own creative practice with a greater consideration. Bring your choice of medium but be aware that there will be an emphasis on the wet paint mediums but these theories are universal to all color forms. The only specific colors needed are the primaries (red, yellow, and blue) and black and white for value studies. That said, I would recommend a warm and cool version of each color.
