Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Why do people find it so difficult to draw well? This course is designed to remove the stumbling blocks you may be experiencing. The ability to draw is not a gift that you’re born with, it can be learned. The first step in this course is a series of exercises to help you develop “an artist’s eye.” You’ll learn how to see and capture light, which is what makes the world visible to us in an accurate and convincing way. That will enable you to produce realistic images of what you see in front of you. This step deeply develops your creative ability by opening a whole new way of seeing the world. The course then focuses on the fundamental tools that make 3-dimensional images look realistic in a two-dimensional environment. Sizing, form, perspective, value, and rendering will be covered in detail, and the student will practice these techniques in still life and cast drawings. This Class is for beginners as well as more experienced artists and will be continuing.

You will need a drawing board, 2B, 4B Staedtler pencils, Plastic eraser, kneadable eraser, Strathmore 400 Series Drawing Paper Pad medium 11” x 14”.
